Visa information

You will usually need an offer or confirmation of enrolment, proof of funds, English test results, health insurance and a genuine study plan. Requirements are set by the New Zealand government and are updated regularly.

We do not publish visa rules that may be out of date. Your visa counselor will give you the current checklist when you are ready to apply.

Work opportunities

Students in New Zealand can often work part-time during studies and full-time during scheduled breaks, subject to visa conditions. Post-study work options depend on the rules in place when you graduate.

Student lifestyle

Expect a mix of independent study, group projects and campus activities. Most universities have international student offices, clubs and a Nepali student association that organises Dashain and Tihar celebrations.
