Master of Public Health

A health-sector master's for medical, nursing, pharmacy and science graduates who want to work in policy, epidemiology and health programmes.

About this course

The Master of Public Health (MPH) prepares graduates to improve health at a population level. It is a natural next step for nurses, doctors, pharmacists, public-health and life-science graduates from Nepal, many of whom already have NGO or hospital experience.

You will study epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy and economics, health promotion and global health, and complete a research dissertation or a practice placement with a health agency. Specialisations include global health, health management and environmental health.

Graduates work in ministries of health, hospitals, international agencies, NGOs and research institutes in their study country and back in Nepal.

What you will study

  • Epidemiology and biostatistics
  • Health policy, systems and economics
  • Health promotion and behaviour change
  • Global health and infectious disease control
  • Research methods and evidence synthesis
  • Dissertation or practice placement

Entry requirements

  • Typically a bachelor's degree in a health or science field with around 60% or GPA 2.8+
  • Relevant work or volunteer experience strengthens your application
