MSc Cybersecurity

A specialist master's in defending networks, systems and data, in one of the fastest-growing areas of the technology job market.

About this course

Cybersecurity is one of the few areas of technology where demand for skilled graduates consistently outstrips supply. The MSc covers network and system security, cryptography, ethical hacking and penetration testing, digital forensics, and security governance and risk.

Many programmes are certified by national cybersecurity agencies and include hands-on labs, capture-the-flag challenges and preparation for industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH and CISSP. Canadian postgraduate certificates offer a shorter, cheaper route into the field.

The course suits computer science and IT graduates, and some universities accept engineering or mathematics graduates with programming ability.
